Curiosity. Connection. Collaboration.
A safe, nurturing space to explore your health story together. Your habits, self-care and lifestyle. We will uncover what may be out of alignment. We will gently dive into what it means to nourish your body and soul, and discuss ways to listen intuitively to the cues your body gives.
As your Certified Functional Medicine and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I honor your pace, support your vision, and guide you with evidence-based tools and thoughtful strategy. Using the key pillars of Functional Medicine along with other integrative frameworks, we’ll work to rebuild from the ground up.
Healthy doesn’t have to be hard
Starting from the inside out — uncovering the deeper patterns behind physical symptoms and understanding how factors like diet, movement, stress, relationships, and career may be affecting your well-being. You’ll be empowered to harness your inner strengths and build self-directed, sustainable habits that support the vibrant, grounded life you envision.
This is a holistic, heart-led journey of transformation — one that goes beyond what’s on your plate to include your values, routines, and deeper mind-body connection. Together, we’ll connect the dots between where you are and where you want to be — and co-create a plan to help you get there and stay there.
Here are some key concepts we can explore in our work together
Integrative Nutrition Plate
The IIN Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors which help create optimal health: relationships, career, physical activity and spirituality, to name a few. Yes, eating well is important, but it is only one piece of the health puzzle. It is equally important to nourish your soul.
Bio-Individuality
The concept of bio-individuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle requirements and these needs will likely change over time. There is no 'one-size-fits-all' diet or way of life. One person’s food can be another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the end. What works well for one person won't necessarily work well for everyone. It is essential to consider complex factors such as body type, age, culture, pre-existing conditions and resources when exploring bio-individuality. Optimal health is about understanding and listening to your intuitive sense of what a balanced life and diet means to you.
Crowding Out
Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different — by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will eventually crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you along the way.
Modifiable Lifestyle Factors
In Functional Medicine Health Coaching, there are 5 foundational areas of health that individuals can actively influence to improve their overall well-being. These MLF’s include sleep & relaxation, exercise & movement, nutrition, stress management and relationships. Each of these pillars plays a vital role in either supporting or undermining long-term health.
As a certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, I work collaboratively with my clients to explore and optimize these roadmap factors, aligning changes with their values, goals, and readiness for change.
Primary & Secondary Foods
It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are all essential forms of nourishment. When these primary “foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.
Deconstructing Cravings
The body is a precisely-run biocomputer. When running smoothly, it maintains a perfect temperature, repairs itself when wounded and breaks down food into usable energy and nutrients. Your heart never misses a beat and your lungs never miss a breath. Your body is constantly monitoring your environment to make necessary adjustments to help keep you balanced. Therefore, when your body is craving something, it is likely trying to create balance for something that's out of sync. Many people view cravings as weaknesses, but often they are important messages that should not be ignored. When you experience a craving, simply ask yourself, “What is my body trying to tell me?”
SMART Goals
A powerful tool designed to turn a vision for better health into clear, actionable steps that help guide my clients to set goals that are focused, realistic and trackable. This process provides them structure, builds confidence, and creates momentum — all good things.
This powerful exercise is intended to narrow the scope from broad intentions to a concrete, measurable plan that guides them to long-term success in reaching their goals. Through thoughtful questioning and collaborative planning, SMART goals helps everyone clarify what the client wants to achieve, why it matters to them, and how to make it doable within their lifestyle.
